Celebs Fighting for a Cause

Toni Braxton, along with her celebrity friends and close loved ones, joined the 9th Annual Lupus L.A. Orange Ball event last night. As Braxton is a person with lupus, this form of activism illustrated in a more fashionable way is a comfortable fit for her to publicly cope with the disease.
Braxton song and performed during the after-five affair at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel, in Beverly Hills, CA.
Actors Drew Barrymore, Lisa Ann Walter, Phill Lewis are just some of the A-listers that attended the event and/or were blessed to speak at the event, on their passion for the cause.
Positive Things. Positive People. Positive Place = Good Stuff in Hollywood!

The Good. The Bad. The Ugly.

Exciting News?! Twitter just may have its own television series. All credit can be given to novelist Amy Ephron who created the idea, with it being picked up by production companies, Reveille and Brillstein Entertainment.
Not So Great News?! Twitter put out a blog entry yesterday stating that they have little to do with the whole idea. Its been clarified by Twitter that “Hollywood folks are developing something that leverages Twitter and they are extremely enthusiastic as evidenced by all the media hubbub yesterday and today. We have little to do with their efforts but we wish them success.”
Bad News?! Celebrity Twitterer Mr. Ashton Kutcher, husband of actress Demi Moore, has a combined 2 million followers on the micro-social networking site. The couple are some of the heavyweights that have expressed their disinterest in such a themed show. Many celebrities along with the Kutchers are concerned that the TV show will encourage members of the public to stalk them. If the idea comes to fruition, and on a bigger spectrum, comes to the television screen, celebrities like the Kutchers may not only give Twitter a hiatus, but a quits too.
Sad face….
Memorial Day Observance

We all smile at the day off of work in observance of Memorial Day. We come together with close ones in Barbeque get-togethers, parties, and travel.
But….
We must all take a moment of silence for the fallen heroes that said, “YES!” to fighting for our country in servitude and honor.
Let’s remember the American soldiers, their families, and our nation’s leaders who hold our fate in their hands.
Peace & Blessings….
No commentsDance Flick: A Family Affair!
Dance Flick is just another family get together for the Wayans Brothers. With the film opening in theaters today, it is evident that the creative streamline has navigated through the genes and into the hearts and minds of not only the 1st generation, but now the next generation of Wayans - their kids. The Wayans’ children are leading the path in film. Their credits include “The Sixth Man”, “Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood”, “Scary Movie 1 & 2″, “Blank Man”, “The Underground”, and “My Wife and Kids”, among other film/TV productions. Namely Damon Wayans, Jr. (son of Damon Wayans) & Craig Wayans (son of Deirdre Wayans) who are the nephews of Shawn & Marlon Wayans have held roles such as actors, staff writers, directors, and producers.
In the film Dance Flick, the Wayans (Shawn, Marlon, Keenan, Damien, Dwayne & Craig) family members are active in the cast and crew, with Damon Wayans, Jr., playing the lead role of Thomas.
I give the background history just to build the momentum of satisfaction with this film. It is guaranteed to bring laughter and more laughter while setting precedence as the first film to spoof all the dance-themed movies.

No commentsMLK…Starring in his own Film?!

Malcolm X
Notorious B.I.G.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
What do they ALL have in common? With MLK being the new name joined to the category, these historic inidividuals share the honor of having a biopic put to film on their life and legacy.
Steven Spielberg is set to produce the MLK biopic movie. He says:
““We are all honoured that the King Estate is giving us the opportunity to tell the story of these defining, historic events. It is our hope that the creative power of film and the impact of Dr. King’s life can combine to present a story of undeniable power that we can all be proud of.”
Who do you believe will get the rights to this movie? The King Kids or Steven Spielberg? Comment with your opinion.

No commentsPoetry Slam DUNK or DISS!!!

A new basketball court, a new First Dog, a swing outside the Oval Office, and a garden built in the yardspace of the White House…now We Say What’s Next? Well, our favorite First Family says, “Why not a Poetry Slam?”
Last night, the Mrs. came out in a beautiful yet quite sexy off the shoulder blouse for the Poetry Slam event. Those in attendance to witness the First Family and the first poetry event in all its glory, included a host of radio and tv personalities such as James Earl Jones, Tatyana Ali, and BIG BOYYYYY from Power 106’s Big Boy’s neighborhood.
The Obama’s see and want to celebrate the importance of poetry and spoken word, as well as culture for our society. Is this a good event to have or too much cultural diversity for you to handle? Let us know…Dunk or Diss?!

We can all agree on one fact: We may be tired of the R. Kelly rhetoric but not his subsequent comebacks on the R&B scene. Whether its his “I Believe I can Fly” inspirational lyrics, his “Bump and Grind” sensual side, or his “He Saved Me” spiritual tendencies, R. Kelly brings a little more than musical creativity to the R&B industry…he brings a new trend, a little piece of the musical genius we can all delve into.
Check out his latest single, bringing out his alter-ego Kells to the arena, featuring OJ da Juiceman. The track is called Supa Man High. Take a listen.
